The Mindanao Peacebuilding Institute (MPI) in partnership with the Al Qalam Institute for Islamic Identities and Dialogue in Southeast Asia, organized a Public Forum on May 23, 2015 entitled, CSOs in the Peace Process: Stories of Overcoming Challenges and Moving Forward. The Public Forum was held as part of the special events program of the MPI 2015 Annual Peacebuilding Training. Kristian Herbolzheimer, Director for the Philippines and Columbia Programs of Conciliation Resources based in London spoke to “Peace Processes in the Region and the Role of CSOs.” Carmen Lauzon-Gatmaytan, Steering Committee Member of Women Engaged in Action on UNSCR 1325 (WEACT 1325) and MPI Alumna based in Davao City, Philippines, spoke on “Philippine CSOs: Their Stories of Overcoming Challenges and Moving Forward.” The videos of their talks and other parts of the forum are available here.
