Early Neutral Evaluation

A neutral, often a subject matter expert, evaluates the merits of both sides of a factual dispute.


Escalation

An increase in quantity, intensity, or scope of violent exchanges among parties.

Commonly referred to as a ‘downward spiral’, escalation typically occurs in cycles of attack or counterattack.
